The 32nd Paris Book Fair is THE place to be for authors and bookworms between March 16th and 19th. This year’s major cultural event will be held at the Parc des Expositions in Porte de Versailles and will celebrate Japanese literature.

Japanese authors and writers from Moscow at the Paris Book Fair

2012’s fair will have a more international feel than ever with approximately forty exhibitor countries and an impressive panel of foreign writers. Paris will welcome 22 Japanese authors and a dozen writers from Moscow.

Every day there will be a major event on the theme of from book to film to provide an insight into the adaptation of literary work to the big screen. Lively debates and meetings about the role of the book in the city amongst essayists, sociologists, publishers, philosophers and politicians are also on the menu.

Manga fans will be delighted to hear that their favourite Japanese cartoons will be honoured at Porte de Versailles. Several famous mangakas will be here to meet visitors and take part in numerous conferences alongside major French/Belgian cartoon names.
